A look back

THE HOUSE AND ITS HOSTS THROUGH THE AGES.

If walls could talk, the Chiavi D’Oro would tell tales of industrious hands, convivial gatherings, and bustling guests. In 1798, the "Kasselmauer Wirt" stood at today’s Via Torre Bianca 10. In 1935, Anton Zingerle bought the building and opened a guesthouse with his wife. The foundation was laid for the Chiavi D’Oro…

FROM GUESTHOUSE TO RESIDENCE

Their daughter Maria eventually took the plunge, taking over the business with her husband Walter Amort and adding another floor. Until the 1990s, the Chiavi D’Oro was one of the city’s inns. Many successful decades later, in 1992, the guesthouse was closed. Instead, new apartments were to fill the house with lively and adventurous guests.

NOSTALGIA AND INTUITION: THE HOSTS TODAY

Your current host, Moritz Amort, took over the business in 2013 with his wife Sonja Meraner. What is still important to both of them is not to forget the history of the house, especially as it has become an integral part of Bressanone. The Chiavi D’Oro is meant to preserve the shine of its golden years and to stand out from other holiday accommodations. Those standing on such historic ground should be mindful of their roots.

Can you feel the magic of the past century? Immerse yourself and enjoy – that’s what your hosts Moritz and Sonja warmly wish for you.
