ACTIVITIES IN BRIXEN FOR EVERY SEASON.
A diverse city holiday on one side, an unlimited active holiday on the other: the countless activities in Brixen and its surroundings ensure that your stay is anything but monotonous. How about a light spring walk along the Karlspromenade or a day trip to the summer Dolomites? A bike tour through autumn foliage or a ski run on the legendary Trametsch slope? With us, you’re not only in the heart of the city but also at the heart of the adventures!
In spring, it's finally time to get out into the countryside again in Bressanone: on a walk on the outskirts of the town, exploring the Archeo trail or on the first Villandro Alpine pasture tour. If you prefer cycling, you can ride through sunshine and apple blossom scents along the valley cycle path to Bolzano or towards the Brenner Pass. A Kneipp excursion to Varna also awakens tired spirits after the winter break. Speaking of Kneipp: If you prefer warm water, you can use our AcquarenaCard to swim laps for free in the indoor and adventure pool just around the corner.
Summer is mountain time, and hiking is one of the most beautiful activities in Brixen and the surrounding area. When the Plose mountain shines in the sunlight, many guests head to the heights – with the BrixenCard, you can ride the cable car to the mountain station for free. Once at the top, you can head towards the peaks or enjoy a lively downhill bike ride: The Plose Bike Park offers four trails for every skill level. Summer is also perfect for a day trip to the phenomenal Dolomites, whether to Lake Braies, the Catinaccio, or the Tre Cime di Lavaredo. Cool off (for free) at the outdoor pool in the nearby Acquarena.
In autumn, Bressanone shows its true colours – and what colours! The yellow-orange leaves rustle along the chestnut trail, the deep red new wine swirls in your glass and the golden-yellow sweet Bauernkrapfen at the Törggelen reward you for your hike through the forest. On many days, the sun shines from the deep blue sky and in the Dolomites, Enrosadira colours the famous peaks pink and red. After an autumnal bike or hiking tour, it’s best to relax in the Acquarena with its indoor pools and cosy sauna area. Insider tip: At the annual Mountain Bike Testival in September, you can test the latest bikes and join guided tours.
When the snow gently covers the Plose in a white blanket, it’s time for one of the most popular activities in Bressanone and its surroundings: skiing! You can use the ski bus and the Plose cable car for free with the BrixenCard, and enjoy a full day of skiing on winding slopes, romantic winter hiking trails, and a toboggan run in the snowy forest. The nearby ski resorts of Val Gardena, Gitschberg-Jochtal, Racines, and Plan de Corones are also easily accessible. At the end of the day, a stroll through the Bressanone Christmas market awaits. And if you ever feel like having a lazy day, you can use the AcquarenaCard to lounge for free in the adventure pool or retreat to the sauna area at a special price.
